  • Intenational Outreach: New Providence Outreach Meeting

    International Outreach is having its first MANDATORY Participant Meeting for those attend the New Providence Outreach Trip! During this meeting, you will meet your fellow peers, learn about more specific details regards the trip, as well as be providing contracts and paperwork for the trip. Come out to have an amazing time and learn useful information for the trip.

      • Guest speakers: Ms. Gina Johnson, an FAU prehealth coordinator and Mr. Marc Wharton, the Assistant Director of the FAU Test Prep Department.

      • Get to know all our officers and what we have to offer this year.

    During this meeting, you’ll hear from the new leadership team and everything they have planned for you. You will also hear from Guest speakers: Ms. Gina Johnson,an FAU prehealth coordinator and Mr. Marc Wharton, the Assistant Director of the FAU Test Prep Department. They will be having a prehealth Q session. This will be followed by Rotations presented by AMSA Leadership Team/CESCOM Medical Students.

  • Pre-Med Fest Information Session

    The University of South Florida (USF), in Tampa, will be hosting AMSA’s PremedFest on November 3rd and 4th. PremedFest is a weekend-long event filled with various pre-health seminars, networking opportunities, and fun times alongside experienced medical professionals. PremedFest is designed to aid in making pre-medical students more competitive applicants for graduate school. Register by October 8th, and take advantage of discounted advance registration rates priced at $29.99 (National AMSA members only). After October 8th, the registration price will increase to $79.00. The deadline to register for PremedFest is October 24, 2018. Click here to register.

  • Volunteering Regents Park Nursing Home

    We will be helping the elderly residents and chatting with them. Give back to your elders by spending some quality time with them. Plus earn volunteer hours while doing so!

  • BB&T Fundraising Event

    Where: at the BB&T Center: 1 Panther Pkwy, Sunrise, FL 33323

    During these events, AMSA members volunteer to help run a concession stand at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL (near the Sawgrass Mall) during the hockey season. Members can be assigned to either work the registers, obtain food/drinks, or prepare food for the BB&T guests.

    These events sound like a lot of work, but it is a lot of fun too. There are often periods of down-time where volunteers can prep for the next wave of customers. Food is provided if there is extra after the shift ends! I promise you that it will be an enjoyable experience, so tell your friends to join as well! Often times, carpooling occurs for these events an hour or so prior to the event, so do not worry about the cost of driving!!

    Earn money towards your trip! Or even for yourself!

  • Women in Medicine: ACS Breast Cancer Walk

    Where: S.E. Wimberly Library

    Come out and participate in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. We will be meeting outside of the S.E. Wimberly Library at 7:45 AM. Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and whatever else you might need. If you can, please wear your AMSA shirt. You will receive volunteer hours for each hour you spend at the event.   • Clinical Skills: Eliathah SDA Health Fair

    Description: Join us for the Eliathah SDA Church Community Health Fair on October 21st from 9:30am-4:00pm in Eliathah Seventh Day Adventist Church! The event allows you to inform people about health, wellness, and community resources. This is a great event to earn volunteer hours and screen individuals by taking blood pressure, pulse rate, and body mass index. Certified members and non-certified members are able to participate. Don’t miss this great opportunity to make a positive impact in our community!

  • Multicultural Medicine: Eastern Medicine Panel

    Doctors of Oriental Medicine from the Asian Arts of Balance here in Boca Raton will be speaking about their career paths and their valuable work as holistic medicine practitioners. There will be a presentation and a Q&A session for members to ask questions. Food will be provided. We hope to see you all there!

  • Clinical Skills Presents: Introduction to CPR

    Join us to learn Cardiopulmonary resuscitation! This is a life-saving technique that can increase someone’s survival rate. We demonstrate how to perform CPR on adults and infant manikins. This is primarily for educational purposes. I hope to see you there!

  • Multiculural Medicine: Feeding South Florida

    Where: 4925 Park Ridge Boulevard, Boynton Beach, Fl. 33426
    We will be volunteering with Feeding South Florida to inspect and sort donated goods to feed the homeless in Boynton Beach. An e-mail was sent out to those of you who are on the email update list for volunteering and the Multicultural Medicine interest group to sign up early, as spots were limited. If any more spots open up, we will send out an update for more sign-ups!
