  • Premed Fest

    When: November 3rd-4th, 2018

    Where: University of South Florida

    The University of South Florida (USF), in Tampa, will be hosting AMSA’s PremedFest on November 3rd and 4th. PremedFest is a weekend-long event filled with various pre-health seminars, networking opportunities, and fun times alongside experienced medical professionals. PremedFest is designed to aid in making pre-medical students more competitive applicants for graduate school. The registration price is $79.00. The deadline to register for PremedFest is October 24, 2018. Click here to register.

  • BB&T Fundraising Event
    4:00 PM-8:00 PM

    When: November 10, 2018 at 4:30pm (Against NY Rangers )

    Where: at the BB&T Center: 1 Panther Pkwy, Sunrise, FL 33323

    During these events, AMSA members volunteer to help run a concession stand at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL (near the Sawgrass Mall) during the hockey season. Members can be assigned to either work the registers, obtain food/drinks, or prepare food for the BB&T guests.

    These events sound like a lot of work, but it is a lot of fun too. There are often periods of down-time where volunteers can prep for the next wave of customers. Food is provided if there is extra after the shift ends! I promise you that it will be an enjoyable experience, so tell your friends to join as well! Often times, carpooling occurs for these events an hour or so prior to the event, so do not worry about the cost of driving!!

    Earn money towards your trip! Or even for yourself!

  • International Outreach CROT Participation Meeting

    International Outreach is having its first MANDATORY Participant Meeting for those attending the Costa Rica Outreach Trip! During this meeting, you will meet your fellow peers, learn about more specific details regards the trip, as well as be provided contracts and paperwork for the trip. Come out to have an amazing time and learn useful information for the trip.

  • Third General Body Meeting (Fall 2018)

      • FAU CESCOM Medical Students will be joining us to teach us about how to STOP THE BLEED in any kind of traumatic situation where massive bleeding can cause death in just minutes. Please don’t miss out on this unique opportunity where YOU could learn how to possibly save someone’s life!

    This is Women in Medicine’s final meeting of the year. The Pajama Party will be a fun time – full of relaxing and talking to each other about the stresses of final exams. We’ll talk about sleep, stress management, and relaxation tips to get you through the semester. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Be sure to dress comfortably!     Come relax on the beach, enjoy an instructed yoga class, stress relief, and have fun with friends while supporting your favorite pre-med organization!
    Tickets are $5 and can be purchased cash or through cash app

  • Research: Dolphin Research Center

    Where: The Dolphin Research Center in Key Largo, Florida.

    While we are there, we will have the opportunity to explore the facility, learn more about the research being performed there on the dolphins, and interact with them

    Come out and learn about the most important test you’ll have to take before getting into medical school. We will be going over the MCAT sections, length of the test, target scores and study tips. We will have a Kaplan brand ambassador present to assist with all study & test preparation questions. Hope to see you there.

  • Clinical Skills Bahamas Mock Meeting

    When: Friday, November 30th at 5:30pm – 7:30pm

    Where: BC 128

    We will go over the procedure/tasks that you will be performing in the screenings, which involves the following:

    Blood Pressure

    -Pulse Rate (bring watch)

    -Measuring BMI (Body Mass Index)

    Requirements: All members (certified and noncertified) are required to attend if you are going to the New Providence Trip in December.
